Hmm, yes, quite like the second one But, thinking about it there is plenty of room for the first one on this guitar! Still prefer you-know-which one though! K

The second one gets my vote too, though I accept that recent events here and in America do little to make democracy appealing.

I'm no judge (as you know) but sounds good to me. I went round the village with a carved archtop (or two) getting guitar players to try them and nobody really knew what they're supposed to sound like until you find someone who can play jazz guitar - then they start to make sense. So your task, francis, is to record your version of your favourite Charlie Christian number. Piece of cake. I look forward to hearing it.

Hells Bells, Francis. It's got flatwounds on and still sustains like that? Sounds fantastic.

Sustain is certainly evident - does it have the attack and "clank" ?
Jazz guitar is not something I know much about at all, and I agree with Rob, if there's a serious jazzer in your neck of the woods I'd love to hear them play it - some fast runes, lush chords and copping rhythm - I'm sure the guitar can do it - I certainly can't!
Oooh, and there's the pickup to think about too (are you fitting it after the finish, or fitting and then removing again?), though I guess the amp is what will make the sound whatever you weant it to be.
This could be yet another toadally awesome (and versatile) guitar Francis!

I've got some experience with the big boxes, vintage and modern...hence my interest in the build. Francis, you've got that nasal, acoustic thing down to pat....as it matures it will only get better and more rounded. A floating pickup will add a huge range of adjustable tone at the amp end. Maybe send it to me for a more thorough road test...let's say for 18 months... It reminds me of this masterpiece guitar that I owned..a Martin/Dale Unger (American Archtop) CF1..... Bravo Francis, Bravo....

Working on getting the Benedetto S6 pick-up and Schatten vol/tone controls seated into the pickguard and levelled properly with respect to the strings. I won't actually wire it up until the finish has been applied early next year.

...some fast runes ... and copping rhythm... No, you'll have to explain, Keith. What are these mysterious techniques?
