If you can do XLR to XLR that's probably best, but when we use a bigger mixer with our Bose it has to go XLR to jack (there's no XLR input on the amp) and I can't hear any drop in quality. Try the mic leads. XLR to jack will be fine so long as you are not talking about long distances.

Thanks Andy. The monitor in/out (which is what they recommend using to connect two systems together) are both XLRs, so I'll just use them.

If you can rent and get a reliable sound guy, that's the way to go for sure. Unfortunately our soundguy wasn't great and clearly didn't enjoy working with us, so I've agreed to buy a PA for the band and mix from stage. Talk about a learning curve, not to mention expense, but it's my intention to hire myself out once we're up and running. I've gone for 15" powered speakers and a digital mixer with two 10" powered speakers for stage monitors. We play wedding dances in village halls and I know that a small PA wouldn't cut the mustard. The 10" speakers will work fine for smaller gigs. I'll be testing it all out on Friday night in a local bistro, possibly with one 10" for FOH and one for monitoring.
I've been researching this for about six months now and it's finally coming into place. We've got a few weddings on the books for this year and can keep adding to the diary now after a fallow spell when we ditched the soundguy.

Sorry, fired my response off thinking page 1 was the extent of the thread. I see you got sorted out Lynn. The Fishman looks like a great system!
