Now on to the top bracing. The Lutz spruce X braces are profiled to a 13’ radius, notched and then glued on one at a time: Then the two A frame braces are glued on: The upper transverse brace is glued on after notching to span the A frame braces: Next the Bubinga bridge-plate is glued on using hot hide glue and a caul in the go-bar deck:

Dave, I have always asked myself what is on top of these woodpegs, that press the bracing to the top.
what makes them stand straight without tumbling to the workbench?

The braces on the top and back give me the curvatures that the sides need to match. The sides are profiled for the top’s curvature, brace positions marked on the rim and the Lawson’s Cypress reverse-kerfed linings are glued in using fish glue:

The sides are profiled for the back’s curvature and to build in the “wedge” that makes the sides narrower on the bass side. The brace positions are then marked on the rim and the Lawson’s Cypress reverse-kerfed linings are glued in using fish glue:

Don't know how to break it to you, davewhite, but that soundhole positioning looks way off...

The Lawson’s Cypress side braces are notched into the linings and glued in using hot hide glue: The 6mm carbon fibre rod flying-buttress braces are then glued in with Lawson’s Cypress side braces: Here’s the completed rim-set:

That looks like a pretty robust set of ribs you've got there. Should last the nominal hundred years.

Thanks Rob. The Madagascan Rosewood back X brace cap is glued on using hot hide glue: The back braces are then carved and the back is “voiced” – here’s the result: The linings are notched to accept the brace ends and the back is glued to the rim-set using fish glue:

Congratulations on number 100! Puts me to shame; I have been 'building' for as long as you have (in the days when £1 brought you 2 dollars' worth of stuff - half price zoot!) .......and I am currently on build #12... /ashamed
