I must say that the craftsmanship of your guitars is fantastic. Your sense for details is absolutely stunning, and I have no idea of how you achieve it. Me - yealous? Absolutely!

Strings now on the lacewood and getting started on the intonation process. These are short brass tubes from my StewMac intonator kit (it doesn't work with a curved pin layout). I use one of the 'hooks' from the kit to slide the brass tubes back-n-forth until I get the intonation sounding correct. I then mark the tube positions on the tape and cut best fit saddle slot(s). There are different diameter tubes so you can get a good approximation to your final action height as well by choosing different tubes. TBC...

Lovely looking guitar, Francis.
Are you doing tap tuning, as per 'the books'? I don't see carbon fibre in the bridge or provision for side weights, so I guess you are still working from your own variation of the Gore method.

Kym scripsit Yes Kim, my own variation on 'the Books'. I'm taking my tops a little thinner, sides about the same but with deeper linings. No CF within the bridge area but compensating with the bridge plate. I feel I'm getting much more out of my guitars. I'll leave ocarolan scorpiodog and others at Paul's today who had the chance to play this guitar to make their comments...

Well, I haven't a clue about the technicalities inside this guitar but the result is that it sounds superb. A real pleasure to play it today. Feels "alive" and responsive; comfortable to hold and to play. Well balanced response across the strings and along the neck; clarity right through from bass to treble; strums and fingerpicks beautifully; sustaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiinnnnns well; looks even more eyecatching for real than in the photos. Loved it! Keith

As one of the "others" I can confirm this is a special guitar with lovely tone and a warm resonant bass It sounds and feels as good as it looks.

It is, quite simply, a delight. That’s looks and sound and feel. Just superb.
A fantastic guitar, Francis.
