Great work Dave, always wanted to build a bass, never had the cahones!
Oh and there are three guitar builders whose work really inspires me Joe Romanillos, Steve Kinnaird and Dave White, you're a national treasure Dave.

A bit more progress - softly, softly, catchee monkey The Macassar Ebony heel cap with b/w/b veneers is then glued on using hot hide glue: When the glue is dry the heel cap is scraped and sanded flush: I've currently got five instruments close to completion

Can’t wait to hear this strung up Dave. Have you had any thoughts on strings?

Can’t wait to hear this strung up Dave. Have you had any thoughts on strings? Robbie - it's going to start off with a set of D'Addario EPBB170's - 45-100. Experimenting with strings is not going to be a cheap operation

Don’t forget, unlike acoustic strings, bass players often sell and buy second hand strings. Just in case you do want to experiment 😉
