The position for the bridge is scribed and the lacquer carefully removed: Then the bridge is glued on using hot hide glue:

I think you can say that you got a good squeeze-out Dave! Colin

I think you can say that you got a good squeeze-out Dave! Colin Setting up the instrument involves fitting the Wilkinson tuners and nut to the neck, bolting on the neck, reaming, slotting and ramping the bridge pin holes, fitting the bone saddle, fitting the strings and dialling in the desired action and playability by adjusting the neck relief with the truss rod, cutting the nut slots and setting the saddle height. Then the K&K pickup and strap pin are fitted. Here’s the finished guitar: I'll post some sounclips when I've work out how to play it or get my friend Peter to record something on it for me.

Yet another great instrument Dave, you really are a legend. I might even have a go of it at HB9!

Thanks Francis, Keith, Colin and Gary. It may come to Halifax - we'll see. This recording is in the spirit of having a larf I've got lots to learn - especially reducing string and fret noise and string damping - but this is a quick and dirty version of Bach's "Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring" played acoustically into a Zoom H4n with flat EQ and no added effects, played with my index finger nail (a bit like a plectrum): "Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring"
