I’ve got the red eye twin too, ordered a ‘customised’ version with the 2nd channel being setup to provide power to the microphone of my K&K Trinity. Sounds ok, but for me I slightly prefer my existing k&k preamp into the Baggs Para DI setup. The Red Eye is a good and solid bit of kit though.

I tried a GE-7 with my K&K, also sound it very noisy! I've a Red Eye, a Baggs Para and a few others - if ever you find yourself near Birmingham and want to have a try.

I’m a 00 fan, both from a sound and comfort perspective.

Thanks for pointing me in the direction of Julian, listening to World's Fair at the moment on Amazon, very nice J Yep i've been listening to that a lot! I have Live in Los Angeles as well but I think i need to investigate the duo albums with Chris Eldridge as well... Those duo albums are incredible, do it!

With not much experience, I plumped for TuneCore for Amazon/iTunes distribution on my recent release, will share any thoughts I have as time passes. I’d also recommend signing up to PRS and PPL and getting all of your stuff registered as early as possible.

Holy moly - a Collings Traditional OM is on my dream guitars list for sure. Massive congratulations, I'm sure it sounds every bit as awesome as it looks. It had been on my dream list ever since they were announced a few months after I got my first Collings - I remember thinking 'that's the guitar that I really want' - and I've been thinking about one for ages, all that was holding me back really was the idea that I needed 'different' guitars and that is was too much like a hot-rod OM28v. Now I'm over that I'm happy - it's rosewood/spruce OMs and Telecasters for me! All of the clips I’ve heard sound wonderful, warmer than a standard series Collings and they sound more responsive, just the best bits of everything really. What you mentioned in a post earlier about it picking up on mistakes makes sense and reminds me of my Waterloo’s - they certainly do that too! Oh and that case looks beautiful!

I recently played a gig with a duo who each had Trance Audio pickups in a couple of old small bodied Gibson guitars. I thought they sounded excellent live, very natural, warm, woody - all of those kinda words.
Had a quick chat with them both afterwards and they were very enthusiastic about those pickups.

Howdy, I'm in Hull tomorrow eve at the Head of Steam, sharing a bill with my friend Wes Finch, and in Coventry on Friday at the Big Comfy Bookshop, sharing a bill with the banjo behemoth Dan Walsh if anyone is in the vicinity

A K&K Trinity for each. Really enjoying them! Better than the Rare Earth? Yep, for the stuff I'm playing now. When I've played in bands in louder rooms, the Rare Earth cut through nicely, it's wonderful. But I'm preferring the greater dynamics and more natural tone of the K&K for my solo work, really captures the sweetness of those Waterloo's in a way the Rare Earth didn't.

I can confirm that the Waterloo WL-14 is a fine sounding instrument in Amit 's hands. Less so when he briefly handed it to me, but such is life I thought it sounded mighty fine in your hands Mr

What pickups have you gone for Amit? I’ve gone from Fishman Rare Earth Blends to K&K Trinity
