Mind you, you'd still be getting a factory guitar. Yes, but one that'll knock the socks off many single luthier's efforts. :bee: True enough.

Is there actually a permanent cure for GAS? The reason I ask is that although I've only had my Faith Venus for 5 months and I am very very happy with it I've already started looking at other guitars.

Is there actually a permanent cure for GAS? I believe death is the only permanent cure, but I'm not even certain about that. Concentrating on becoming a better player and looking honestly at my financial situation helps me keep it at bay. I had some Xmas money that was almost spent on a Faith Mars Mahogany (brand new for £399) but after staring repeatedly at the gaping holes in my finances, it went on not-as-fun-as-a-new-guitar-but-far-more-responsible type stuff, like heating the flat.

So basically the only cure is death and that's debatable. Looks like I better start saving.

I posit that Man's relationship with Guitar can never be monogamous. The debate is better directed towards the character of the harem which, in turn, determines the numbers therein. This is equally true of ' reverse harems ', I believe, or ' gyakuh?remu' as the Japanese call them, wherein lady guitarists also seek diversity as desirable to their creature comforts. As the ...not-so-well-known...Japanese proverb goes- To be finger-player one must take hand off whammy.

Must admit I'm going through a GAS phase at the min. The head of the Fun Police has granted permission for me to "do what you want and get what you like" whilst simultaneously brainwashing me into believing that if I go down the "made to measure" route as opposed to "off the peg" that I will be afraid to play it and leave it in it's case. I do have the full range of "off the peg" guitars to choose from though :-)
Now if only I could decide...

This will sound like BS but I honestly am happy with what I've got . But and there's always a but , I'm considering letting go of all my electric gear AGAIN ! I just can't be bothered with it all and for the amp , guitar and pedals I could get myself a decent acoustic amp and a cheapish mixer . I've considered buying a cajon too and one of those stomp box things made of wood that plug in like a pedal .

Well after playing my Faith for nearly 2 hours I'm cured, lol. Having a go at a slow bluesy version of Ace of Spades, seems to have suppressed the GAS for now.

Me too! I only play my Strat in the band I'm in and as we're planning to move away this year, will I ever join another?? Yet another hanging question.
