Or more precisely, fixing the clip that attaches them to the guitar.
I've got two of these tuners and both the clips have a broken tooth so they don't hold the tuner properly. Other than that everything is fine.
It seems a shame to bin them because of a broken bit of plastic. Has this happened to anyone else? Did you fix it? If so, how?
Has anyone tried to get a new clip without a tuner?
Just help please, if you can.
Thanks
New Dave

I've had a couple of these break on me at what sounds like the same place. It's a shame because they are good tuners. I managed to get one of them sort of working again using superglue, but it was then stuck in a fixed position. I'd be surprised if they do spare parts.

I stopped using them for this very reason. It is a shame becaaue they are so good and the display is really clear. I bought a Polytune to replace them, and I am very pleased with it. Robust as you like and, though expensive, has probably saved me a few quid in the 3 or 4 years I've had it, because I could well have bought 5 or 6 Snarks in that period. And yes, that does mean I am hamfisted and rough with tuners, I don't know why. I do keep one of the black ones for my bass guitar, because Polytunes don't seem to work with bass notes below those of a guitar (it'll do D but that's about it).

These are undoubtedly the best clip on tuners out there and weirdly I have had mine (the red one) for countless years and it is used every day and on/off guitars and basses and I have never had any problems with it and never a problem with the clip.

I have a polytune too, although tbh I'd do just as well with a unitune. I don't play live so I don't use the poly function. I have a couple of larger, non-clip on tuners too and I use them more than the others (one has a metronome which is useful as well). But clip-ons are very handy. I'll try super glue. I don't want to just throw them away.

Not sure where they're breaking but try super gluing the joint then a wrap of elastoplas (or similar) around the joint - then coat that with superglue. That should add more body to the joint...

I'm currently mostly using these two. I can plug the electro-acoustics into them but they have internal mics so I can also use them for plain acoustics.

Back to Snarks - many years ago, I bought three red ones - one each for guitar, mandolin and dobro and went upon my way rejoicing to Sorefingers - a bluegrass "summer school".
On the first evening I was sitting in the bar partaking of a small sherry (just the one) with my pick box and new tuner in front of me. An old friend and club organiser came over t join me sat down and said "what's that?" Picking up the brand new red snark number 1. He snapped it in two. Obviously he was very embarrassed and promised to get me another. I'm still waiting.
That night the second one was "taken- out" by the headstock of an elderly Gibson Mastertone banjo, and I still have the third consigned to my workshop tool box, however, despite the freshness of the CR2032 - it is so dark that it is pretty much useless.
I m now contacted from time to time asking to do reviews of tuners after this -
I now use the TC Electronics Unitune, and have a number of them sent to me by kind zoom clients.

It has happened to me loads of times. Sometimes I've been able to create some kind of fix but them the damn thing often falls off, especially whe out playing somewhere.

I dropped mine yesterday, well it rolled off the table onto the kitchen floor. Heart in mouth moment as it was a birthday gift a couple of years ago. Thankfully it seems fine. (I do have a Badger as a backup)
