The Closed box. Time for a clean-up now in prep for applying a sealer then cutting binding and purfling channels...

That looks stunning, francis - and I say that with the knowledge that it'll look even more stunning when the finish is applied.

Knackered. Not made for sanding and scraping these days. After cutting the channels it was time to fill em up again. I've kept it simple with rosewood and w/b/w lines for the bindings and b/w/br/w/b lined purflings on front and back faces. Today has been spent removing the final tapes, scraping areas that needed scraping and giving the whole surface (not the soundboard) an initial sanding.

I think I’ll just put it on a table and look at it. You take it easy now, Francis. We’re none of us as young as our wives want us to be.

I'd echo what others have said - a really beautiful piece of work, Francis!

That flame is amazing.
So impressed with the skill involved; the binding and purfling look absolutely superb.

That is some great work there Francis. That Flame is going to pop beautifully when it is finished, what a joy.
Is this the first Falcate guitar you've built? I ask as I have Gore's books and am thinking of making one myself, only I can't find much feedback on the difference the bracing makes, or to be more specific, how easy it is to control the Longitudinal and Cross Dipoles that Gore/Gillet consider to be so important it achieving a balanced tone.
If this is not your first Falcate build it would be lovely to get some feedback on why you have chosen to make another.
Thanks, again, great work.
