Looking great Alasdair... the twins are maturing rapidly. Cheers, marcus Yup. They grow up so fast, don't they. As I type, I see that there's an outside chance that the Poms may, say it softly, win a game of cricket… You Aussies must be gutted. How did it come to this. Mind you, they haven't won yet… Defeat from the jaws of victory, and all that. My own clubs speciality! How you looking forward to South Africa? Maybe more of a challenge? ALl the best, Alasdair.

Alasdair (ALI)... you are indeed "the best" and you are doing a fine job of proving it by keeping us up to date with your beautiful builds... I like a man who knows himself and is not afraid to hide his attributes... lamps and bushels and all that.
A good win to your lads... very glad for your namesake Monsieur Cook... pity it was against out 3rd eleven though!!!!!!!!!!! Hopefully they can do it again on Australia Day (today) just to rub our noses in it...
Cheers, marcus

Marcus!
Well spotted - the perils of keyboard inaccuracy!
Again. Please, they're not really 'my lads'. I'm really a neutral - the team I most enjoy watching these days are India. It was a good win, however. Albeit again your 3rd XI. As I write, Engerland are making a bit of a hash out of what should have been a canter. As I said - defeat from the jaws of victory. On the other hand, wouldn't it be nice of the Poms not to spoil Australia Day…
The builds… Yup, getting to the ticklish stage. Trying not to dwell on them too much. Another month perhaps? Dunno. Whatever, they'll be with me in due course. I'm really looking forward to seeing them lacquered, especially the rippled mahogany binding on the MBW.
Hope all well with you and yours,
Alasdair.

You got that spot on Alasdair... it's been that kind of summer for YOUR boys. Eoin has been a stand out though... strange that he's Irish and not a South African. I was lucky enough to score free tickets to the Sydney ODI and went with my father and one of my brothers. It was a real eye-opener. The cricket has seemingly become irrelevant, pushed aside in favour of other forms of "entertainment" that assault the senses the entire match... throbbing music, party sections in the crowd, dress-ups, kiss-a-cam, dance contests, ubiquitous beer advertising (and constant beer consumption in the stands), ball throwing competitions, mexican waves, beach balls and bad, expensive junk food... at least we didn't have the flashing bails and flame throwers that feature in the 20-20 Big Bash. I'll stick to test-match cricket from now on... a game where my thermos of tea will be appreciated, Waiting is tough... zen is the answer... to every question,,, and the answer is... 42 One week of summer school holidays remaining...

Summer School holidays!? Of course. Here we seem to be stuck in perpetual Spring/Autumn scenario. At the moment in the north west of Scotland it's raining heavily and we've got gales coming in. Not cold tho… seem to have done away with Winter altogether.
I'm with you on the 20-20 thing. And I agree with you about Morgan - someone somewhere has slipped up badly, raiding Ireland for players! Always thought he just looked a very, very good player but someone at Lords decided he was a one day specialist. Pity - he's usually good to watch.
All the best for the rest of your holidays, (you a teacher…? couple of my chums are teachers here and nobody I know has a greater grasp of the calendar and when exactly their next holidays are).
Alasdair.

Well, your guitars look like they are going to be the dog's gonads ... so I guess that's why that particular picture was included

Love the back of headstock/neck treatment - first saw that on Martin's Taran and thought it very elegant.
Don't know how you can suffer this kind of torture Alasdair!

One of the Taylors I had featured a backstrap and, aside from the practicality (reinforcing a potential weak spot), always just liked it. Torture? Ach, it's the home straight now. All good things…, etc. All the best, Alasdair. PS Any use for some Fred Kelly picks - 2 x med and 2 x light? You're more than welcome. I was gonna try bending them to size after heating but now I've ordered some large, I don't have to.
