I'd leave the tele for now Martin. If the bug takes hold again, there'll be others. I find, when I get guitars, too closely in time, one gets left out.

+1 to what grayn said. Especially as there are interesting alternatives, that are very much different from the one you just got. Like these, for example:

+1 to what grayn said. Especially as there are interesting alternatives, that are very much different from the one you just got. Like these, for example: I tried that Godin model, on the day I got my Eastman semi. It's a lovely guitar, with P90s (which I love) but it's very much geared toward the heavy stringed, jazz player. It played like an acoustic, rather han an electric. I have since acquired another semi: which is somewhere between the Eastman and the Godin.

Just because you're having a mid-life crisis, doesn't mean you don't need a couple of electric guitars ...

Go on then. Which effects poedals? Well, straight off the bat, I'm thinking chorus...ahh, but which chorus? I'm leaning towards a small clone or neo clone at the moment. Don't need overdrive with the dirty channel on the amp being so ear-crushing, and I've never really used much else. Except a wah....

If I may say so, Martin, don't overdo it. Make-up is fine, as long as you know the real beauty underneath.
All this accessory stuff is fine to play around with, but it distracts you from the real thing. I order to try everything you finally end up nowhere. With a setup like this I would concentrate on playing the guitar, not the gimmicks. Just my humble 2 cents.

What sort of reverb is on the amp, Martin?
I suspect it's a digital, hall type reverb.
You might want to consider a good quality spring reverb. That Jaguarillo, saturated in spring reverb and a little whammy bar wobbling, would sound sublime.

That Jaguarillo, saturated in spring reverb and a little whammy bar wobbling, would sound sublime. The spec just says stereo reverb, Graham. To be honest, I really like the sound of it, and as good as the amp is on the overdrive channel with the humbucker, I really love the warmth of the guitar played through the clean channel, using the in-between neck and middle pickup switch setting. I'm a bit unsure about the whammy bar...it's a screw-in type, and tightens up just out of reach. When I grab it to use it, it's still a bit loose in the socket and doesn't 'feel' right. I usually just lock the thing in place and forget about it, but I think it looks very cool

Doesn't sound like you'll need much in the way of effects, Martin. Unfortunately, many of the Jag/JM tremolos can be a bit loose. It's a shame, as when they work, they are very smooth and usable. Some people do use plumber's tape.
