I'm sure I don't need to tell anyone here of the importance of slotting the bridge and using unslotted pins as against slotted pins and unslotted bridge in terms of ball end position on the bridge plate Colin You certainly don't colins <coughs nervously, goes to check his guitars and finds both slotted and unslotted bridge pins - though never in the same instrument>

Well, the long process has reached a happy conclusion, the two walnut OO-13 fret guitars are finished. The Claro: B&S: Claro walnut Top: Caucasian Spruce Neck: Mahogany/walnut/ebony Binding, headplates: English Cherry FB/Bridge: Madagascan rosewood Rosette/purfling: Claro walnut/ebony/pear/ebony. Off to it's new owner next week. Colin

Thanks chaps, both have turned out pretty well, and at least they do sound like guitars, or at least guitar like objects, probably not as good as Martin's uke, but of course he's a huge talent.
I was a little nervous about the all English guitar as I've never used Port Orford Cedar before, and certainly never used wood from a tree out of Dave's front garden. However, I'm pretty chuffed about it, it's a great top wood, interesting to look at and a very nice voice, which will only open up more over the coming months. The sound is similar to the Redwood tops I've used, very even across the board.
Leo, you'll have to wait until Halifax to hear it I'm afraid, unless you just want my Em fretted with my thumb!
Oh and here is the complete package, in it's Hiscox Pro II case.
Colin
PS. Working on my plans for the 2016 competition guitar.

can I by a raffle ticket online even though I'm not attending please Phil I'm very sorry Phil, but only those forum members and guests attending Halifax personally can enter the draw. This is actually out of our hands, as our fund-raising 'lottery' (raffle) competition must be either classified as a Private Society lottery or an Incidental Non-Commercial lottery to be allowed to run by law, and as a rule either of these types are only open to those either attending the event or being 'on the premises'.
