Thanks to all of you that have entered the competition so far – it’s been interesting and fun getting to hear about you and your music. I think it’s time to stir things up a little and I want to get down to a final three entrants to choose the winner from. To help me do this I need all entrants to:
- choose two recordings/videos that best represent you and your music and post links to them - explain how “Sahmradh” would have enhanced or added to these recordings/videos - outline where you plan/would like to be I a years time in terms of your career as a professional musician and what steps you are taking to achieve this.
I’ve pm’d you all with this request and would like to have this by Friday 21st June 2013.
For potential new entrants I originally said that the closing date for entries was mid-August and new entrants will also have to submit the above information. I’ll consider each new entry on merit and see if they can join the final three I select.

Daniel, Thanks for that - for neatness I'll ask Keith to move it to your own entry thread. Keith - pretty please ?

Thanks to all of the entrants that responded to my request. I've decided that for the final stage of the competition four of you are going forward and I will decide and announce the winner from these four on this thread on Friday 12th July. I'll be consulting with some others but the final decision will be mine and I will be using a number of criteria - the main one being who at the current stage of their careers will make the most of and use "Samhradh" to the best effect. In alphabetical order the four going forward are:
Fran Baxter James Daubney Megan Kilpatrick and Daniel Scott
A huge thank you to Greg, Marcy, Gideon and Jack - you all have great talent and I hope that you will stay active here on Acoustic Soundboard and we can all watch your talent grow.

Well it hasn’t been an easy decision to make as the talent and variety of music that all entrants this competition have produced has been really good and you all have great futures ahead of you. There hard part is that there can only be one winner and after careful consideration I have decided that the winner is:
James Daubney
Well done James but also well done Fran, Megan and Daniel for getting this far.

Well done, James ... the standard has been incredibly high (as it should be for such a prize) so can I only echo Dave's commiserations to Megan, Daniel and Fran.
I hope you don't all just disappear from the forum ...

Congrats James! You'll have a lot of fun with the new guitar, and you will, I'm sure, find it an inspiring instrument to play. All the best with your music. Hope you'll stick around and let us know how you're getting on.
Commiserations to all of the other entrants in a fairly closely fought contest. You've all submitted some good stuff, and we'd love to know via the Forum how things go for you in future.
And, of course, many thanks to Dave for generously making the competition possible.
Keith
