Dave has shown the judgement of Solomon: James is a worthy winner of a very close competitiion.

Well done James and I hope you enjoy Dave's fantastic guitar and that it helps advance your musical career.

Also, well done Dave for such a generous and imaginative gesture. It has been a joy and inspiration to see the skill and artistry of all the "young people" who entered. Take a bow sir!

Fantastic effort all round... well done James for winning and Dave for such a generous prize. It's wonderful to see such generosity intersect with great talent... and it will be wonderful to hear some clips once the handover takes place.

If I may be so bold as to make a suggestion?

? How about the next competition be aimed at washed-up, middle-aged hacks with limited talent, poor technique, questionable taste and no chance of ever making it in the industry??? I'd be the first to submit an application....
