It'll be difficult to play a bum note on that.

I suspect that the lovely backside pictured above was in fact the third attempt at a satisfactory result. Francis made two others previously but rectum. Keith

Please francis could you explain what is happening behind the bridge? Thanks, Dale Hi Dale earthbalm , The metalwork is the intonation jig. Once the strings and guitar have settled I can start adjusting the truss rod and setting the intonation up. The jig allows me apply individual false saddles (one to each string). The adjustment screws allow a small brass tube to be moved back (if string is sharp) or forward if the string is flat when comparing open string and 12th fret octave notes. Once each string is adjusted I can mark their positions on the bridge ready to rout the saddle slots for the bone saddle. matter then of making small adjustments with a file to the top of the bone saddle to set the intonation points. The string wrapper is to stop me getting too many finger marks on the guitar whilst making adjustments (not a permanent feature)

Many thanks francis. I'd thought they might be some sort of intonation device and had hoped they weren't a permanent fixture. The guitar looks fantastic. Dale

Dale earthbalm Stew-Mac's Intonator, I like it but the adjustment barrels can rattle quite a bit at times. The different sized brass tubes help to approximate the saddle radius with a flat topped bridge or give a gauge to string height at 12th fret.

I tried increasing a downloaded picture but it wasn't very clear. This is just fantastic. Cheers, Dale
