Stunning, Francis. Your best yet, I think. Really distinctive looks but without being over the top.

Really nice guitar Francis, detail work looks fantastic! Do you use templates and routers for the headstock shape?

Really nice guitar Francis, detail work looks fantastic! Do you use templates and routers for the headstock shape? Thanks Ashley. ashleyThat's the easiest way of doing it. I also (for the very fine logo pocket and inlay) use a small CNC. Rothko & Frost charge a small fortune for the MOP inlays and its easy to compute the tool paths for the fine router bits (0.3 & 0.4 mm). The awkward thing with headstock templates is clamping the template and leaving room for the router base. I usually pre drill the tuner post holes in the template and use a couple of countersunk bolts through the holes to secure the template and leave a flat working surface. For a slot head put a temp hole down through each slot for the bolts. If your using multiple templates for the headstock then registration of the templates can be an issue - cutting the outline, drilling tuner holes, slots, logo...
