Listening to music like this is one of the main reasons I make instruments - thanks Keith

bootiful playing Keith .... I think I may have been hypnotised as all I can see are Newtones.... Newtones.... Newtones.... They do sound great on the guitar and remarkably 'squeak free'

Thanks a lot to all likers and commenters. Glad you like what Anthea can do. She is a lot of fun, and seems to cope with almost anything. Hope to get some audio tracks up soon to demonstrate more variety. Tinkly fingerstyle as in the vids is only one of her many charms! And then, if time, I hope to do a couple more instrumental vids, but I'll hang on till I've fitted the strap buttons Dave is kindly sending me and then I'll be able to get Anthea into a more comfortable position when I'm sitting upright. (ooer) lavaman - more compression? Well I did try to keep the pieces as short as possible. Keith

Here are some audio files of songs I recorded during "snow days" last week. All are basic and simple - Zoom H2n as USB mic into Cakewalk for topping/tailing and mixing tracks where necessary. Flat eq. No effects. I've tried to choose a variety of styles (within my limited repertoire, anyway) to demo the guitar in different situations, and tried to keep the vocal perhaps a little less prominent for the same reason. Walking on a Wire - by Richard Thompson. I chose this as it has some fairly firm strummage and some hard-picked fills. Capo at fret 3. I will be there - by Ivan Drever. Slowish and sparse-ish fingerpicking. No capo. Song for Winter's Night - by Gordon Lightfoot. It certainly was a wintry night when I recorded it! Twin faster fingerpicked Antheas - Main part with no capo, secondary part capo 5. Last Train and ride - by Ralph McTell. Again, two Antheas. One fingerpicked part with single note solo, no capo, and one gently strummed part, no capo. Having this morning fitted the strap buttons that Dave sent me in the post, I hope to do a couple more instrumental vids soon with Anthea strapped on to get a more comfortable sitting up playing position. And, being as Anthea was made by Dave, I'll likely do one of them in the Devil's Tuning - which, unsurprisingly, she seems to like very much! Keith

Beautifully done as ever Keith and a lovely choice and range of songs. I could sit and listen to you and Anthea for ever - the sound of you both is heavenly.

That's a lovely sounding guitar in your hands Keith. I particularly like the Ivan Drever & Gordon Lightfoor songs.

Those snowy days were not wasted Keith! A wonderful demo of Anthea's [and your] talents.. I particularly enjoyed "Winters Night" which for some reason is new to me... Looking forward to the forthcoming "strapped" instrumentals..

Brilliant selection of songs Keith, to my shame I didn't know any of them, but I'm glad I do now! In particular, loved 'Walking on a Wire' (strummage nirvana) and 'Song for Winter's Night'.

Anthea + Keith = one wonderful combo. Excellent demo of the variety of sounds and styles and both parties sailed through with merit - a high class demo. Mark

Thanks again to all likers and commenters. you are all too kind - Anthea makes it very easy to sing along with and to know that at least the guitar is sounding good! Here, as promised, is the first "strap-on" vid - a very comfortable position is easily obtained with the strap; supporting Anthea in just the right position for a mutually beneficial experience.... This is my tune The First Day of Spring, which I've posted a while back played on my Fylde custom Alex. It works really well on Anthea as it seems easier to stop the mostly alternating bass from being too prominent. The first day of meteorological spring was March 1st, and astronomical spring begins on March 20th, so I thought this would be an appropriate time to do this choon. Ooooh, and in deference to davewhite's predilections, it is in the extremely exotic (for me) DADGAD chooning. For a variety of reasons, time is getting the better of me, and I only managed to do this vid today in something of a hurry, hence there's several fingerflubs I'd rather weren't there, but I don't think they're too obvious! Hope to get at least one more done sometime, and let Glyn have a day or two with Anthea, before handing over to Dale ( earthbalm )at the weekend. Keith

A lovely optimistic tune to go with today's South Devon sunshine...fluent playing and loads of clarity from Anthea. You both look very comfortable "strapped up" although I fancy Anthea may have put on a bit of weight round her midriff while she's been in your care
