Hi Francis, can i ask- are you planning a split bridge on the parlour or is that two pieces of wood glued together?
From the picture it looks fab and quite unique.

Andy fozAndy - It's the timbers natural colouration between heart and sap woods and will be a solid piece of yew. Likewise the colour variations in the rosette are natural hues within the timber. Andy Andy - I use Photoshop CS3 Extended to do the mock-ups. A DSLR camera and an A4 scanner to capture the timber samples. Whether I'm working from purchased plans or own designs I usually spend a fair bit of time 'cutting out' (electronically) guitar outlines and back-filling with the various timbers to build the mock-up. Often I have a number of variations and by turning on/off different layers in PS I can come up with a final design.

Thank you for sharing; your rendered pictures really help with illustrating the final design. Though it sounds like a lot of effort, it must be really invaluable for prospective buyers. Andy

OK. It's time to re-start this one again - more stop/starts than a Hereford bus Originally intended as a present for someone but it was declined so time to get the wood out of the dehumidifier and crack on... Prepare for more mock-ups.

ocarolan , your post was almost word for word what I was originally going to post before going for the 'yew' comment. Even down to the VM emoji. Great minds...

This is most excellent - I've played a couple of parlours by Francis and they were superb sounding guitars. You're a lucky bloke Andrew! Keith

Every guitar I’ve ever played that Francis has built has been stunning. I have to avoid playing any that he hasn’t sold. I buy them! Even if I resist for years. Don’t I Francis? You are a lucky, lucky chap, Andrew. You’ll love it.
