I’m not usually a fan of electrics, but for this I’m willing to make an exception. Looks fabulous. Vinny

I followed the thread.Amazing work. Unfortunately, the HB gathering is a bit too much of a trek from Ireland. Would love to attend and put faces to the forumites. AND be in with a chance to win a guitar. Extremely generous of you.

What Keith said. That’s where I put them anyway, since that’s where George Lowden put it when I bought a guitar at his workshop. Who am I to second guess him? Use felt or leather washer as Keith suggested.

Best use of banjo I’ve ever heard of - play when visitors overstay their welcome.

I’ve said this before but the current high end Guilds are as good as you will get from a factory guitar - at a better price than most. Do check them out. The consistency of Guild has definitely improved. I have two from the New Hartford factory and they're much more lightly-built and responsive than the older ones I've played. The prices seem to have rocketed up lately though. Vinny

I agree with jangarrack’s points re. the guitar sounding inexplicably off sometimes and with vikingblues about days when I can’t even seem to tune the thing. Ears can have their off day. Having said that I usually just know if a guitar is for me after a couple of bars. While there are certain makes I prefer in general, I’ve found (same as others have already stated) massive differences between two examples of the same model. You just have to try each one. On the Taylor front, I’ve only played one, an all koa model, that really tempted me. Might just have been my ears on that day! Vinny.
