Just got back from one of the best gigs I’ve ever been to! Featuring the classic bluegrass lineup of guitar, banjo, mandolin and, er, cello they have their own blend of high energy punk/bluegrass I don’t think I’ve ever seen a band so obviously enjoy themselves so much on stage. Think they’ve got a few more UK dates left! Fantastic band I have a couple of there albums was hoping to see them at Sheffield or Newcastle but looks like work gets in the way

Thank you for the advice guys, I think that is exactly what I need to do Keith, I want to play the guitar and banjo because I enjoy it and with my teacher I was not enjoying it, he would read and send texts even answering his phone during a lesson, I feel I have wasted a lot of time and money not learning very much, the shop I had lessons in is great they have two other guitar teachers who I might take lessons off in the future.

After almost a year of lessons I've decided to stop, I'm looking for recommendations on good beginners books and or online courses, I may or may not restart lessons with a different teacher in the future but one thing is for sure I intend to enjoy trying to learn guitar Many thanks Rob

This will be my first guitar show so I'm really looking forward to it, it's also our busiest weekend of the year at work so it will be a quick visit even though it's just down the road. Will anybody else be there this weekend

I've bought a ozark 2112g it's like new and was a very good price and hopefully will be just right for me to learn on, my guitar will always be my first love but I'm hoping me and the banjo have some fun

I used to fly falcons on landfills and would often see guitars in the rubbish but never saw a banjo, just saying what I saw not making a comment

I agree with what you're saying Leo, you can't practice to be creative, but you need to practice to be creative

I'm learning to play a classical guitar which I'm enjoying very much and intend to carry on learning the only fly in the ointment is the banjo I really enjoy the sound of it, modern blues grass really floats my boat. Would it harm my rather slow progress with the guitar to learn to play the banjo at the same time.

But for me his lovely guitars are just not played enough and not really played in. I keep suggesting he focuses on one (or two) and just beats the shit out of it on a regular basis (a technical term I think). I'm sure this would help them develop their sound properly.
