Looks like a nice little doer-upper Mike - just needs a roof and you're all set. A beautiful area - good luck with the hunt.

Atacama stands? I've got some old Castles on mine, do a great job.
Looks like a good evening - Ian's glass is full in both pics, so I presume he didn't drink any of it? Maybe next time I'll be close enough to be there.

I'll direct him to this thread in particular and he may chip in - and also get the Wine Road Trip off the ground... they were very generous and gave me enough wine to keep us going for many months, too good for us, some says on the label to be kept till 2020!
They also kindly hung some of my big paintings I need to offload before our return to Blighty and I sold a couple today, so all-in-all a good experience.

PM received Leo - great to receive pms like that.

Yes, pretty distanced from the crowd... but safe from projectiles!

Leon, after the wine tasting when everybody had gone, the beer tasting started... not a good start to April!

Had a great time - met some top people and drunk some pretty decent wine... red stuff Bernd, my favourite was their top wine Tahi, a blend of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvedre. The acoustics worked out fine, but when the place filled up I had to turn it up a lot. Mrs Mosco said the Kostal sounded very clear, I was afraid it would be a bit boomy... I met a guy called Kevin, an old rocker, who brought his guitar along, we played a bit together - he played John Martyn's "Singing in the rain", one of my favourites, such a happy song from someone so troubled; he said he knew him in the old days. I played Leo's song to the host, he laughed so much and thought it was a great song. He's actually a student of mine and I'm hoping he'll join us on here. Jonny

Shame the borstal line couldn't be in there - hilarious... and you wrote that without being intoxicated? Brilliant!

That is really fantastic Leo - thanks a lot, so quickly penned, made us laugh so much, some great lines. I'll post it on FB if that's okay and on the venue's page. Cheers mate.

Thanks Keith - it is a long, narrow hall with a very high ceiling - they are expecting loads of people, so when it fills up and people start to be a little inebriated I may need some sound reinforcement. Originally they wanted to put me up on a beam!
My nails are failing, so don't want to play too hard as they've almost worn away and also thought a PA would add a bit of clarity - I'll find out tomorrow when I set up. Won't get much volume out of the Mod D filled with wine anyway - I'll take a straw, one of those bendy ones I can fit behind the strings over the soundhole.

I think the deal was as much as I can drink whilst I'm there!

That's a winery cave... tomorrow afternoon.
Looking forward to it and been preparing some up-tempo bluesy stuff to play - I think it may be cold and I'll be playing on a balcony looking down on the winery, so not sure how the acoustics will work out.
I'll play the Kostal, it will be its first outing plugged in, may need to tinker with the eq a bit due to the big bass end.
The best thing about it is I'll be paid in wine!

Used to see Martyn Joseph play a lot in the mid 80s in the valleys - I see he's dumped his Ovations now. Has he moved on to Lowdens?

Listened to 'Alison' - bloody brilliant, big thumbs up from the whole Mosco clan. Good luck.

Three tunes on the go - still working on "The Wall" Don Alder, "Everybody wants to rule the world" arr. Andy McKee and one for a gig I'm doing of mainly bluesy stuff on Sunday: "AJ's Boogie" by Mark T.
The first two have a rhythmic string tap whilst simultaneously playing a note, a technique I thought I could use elsewhere, not something I've used before and a pig to master with any amount of fluidity.

Flippin' eck - been thinking all day, shall look at that vid tonight... what a nice surprise, hi Fran, was expecting Ewan to post something first.
Ewan told me he's told you about this great opportunity.
Those on AcousticLife may remember the recording I did with Birthday Girl in the cave during the summer.
Great to see you on here Fran - sorry I've missed your gigs, I'd love to be there, but still in the south of France. You must have a new pro-active manager.
You don't know it, but I've been promoting your stuff on here for a while due to the connection with Ewan. So, good luck. Where's Ewan then?
Jonny
PS That's me playing the twiddly bits in the middle on "Old House".
