I can vouch for the fishman loud box mini. It's loud with good tone acoustically and vocally. As for the others I have no experience of them so can't help. All I can say is go with your ears, if it's loud enough and sounds good go with it.

I recently bought a Fishman loud box mini. Very good for the money and you get a mic chanel. Guitar and vocals sound really good.

As others have said keep singing loud and proud. Like Scorpiodog my wife used to tell me I couldn't sing. I just ignored her and carried on. Other people seem to like it. She came with me once when I did a gig and when members of the audience started complimenting me on my singing she didn't even acknowledge them. She's still my wife but never comes with me when I gig or go to jam nights. If your serious about singing get yourself a small pa or an amp with a mic Chanel, you will sound better and you will get used to singing into a microphone. Also when practicing always start with songs that are well within your vocal range, then you won't strain your voice. Good luck

Your definition of 3 chords is slightly different to mine, lol. Enjoyed it though.

Like vikingblues I didn't recognise most of names of the guitar makers quoted and I wouldn't know wether they sounded any good either. From my own experience when I was looking for a guitar I tried a few around the 2 grand mark was left disappointed with them. Can't imagine how I'd feel if I commissioned a guitar and it cost around the 3 grand mark and didn't like the sound of it. But like I said before if you can afford it and you don't mind spending the money what hell and go for it.

It's like anything in life an object is only worth what you or anyone else is willing to pay for it. I recently had a lift in a car that cost nearly £100,000 and when we were going down the motorway at 70mph I would not say it was worth £80,000 more than a new mondeo, but hey what do I know, someone was willing to pay it. If you've got the money and you like it go for it and who cares what anyone else thinks. If you don't spend it now, your nursing home will take it off you.

When I play either of my Faith's I get people commenting on the tone, even when I plug the Venus into a pa or an acoustic amp the tone is great. Faith guitars definitely punch above their weight. I know some people can make a bad guitar sound good but Faith guitars definitely make a not very good guitarist sound a lot better.

I have short fingers so the narrow nut width suites me just fine. I also have a high gloss Venus. I have the mercury tuned to dadgad the tone is better than my playing.

I saw him play around 10 to 15 years ago can't remember exactly as part of a trio. Unbelievably very good. People were sat there with their mouth's open. If you get the chance I would recommend you go and see him. He makes it look very easy.

I've been to quite a few jam nights open mic nights folk nights sing arounds etc and have never experienced any negative behaviour at any of them. The performers always get a round of applause. The none performers in the audience are appreciative that someone is prepared to get up and have ago. Maybe we've just been lucky.

Hi Sorefingers
I'm in Tenerife this week and saw a guy playing his electro acoustic (not sure of make) through what sounded like a chorus effects pedal (again not sure of make). He played a variety of songs from the 60's to very recent ones. The pedal definitely added to the quality of his sound. I was very impressed with his cover of Hotel California. I am now looking to get one.
