Whilst browsing eBay I came across a Faith Mercury High Gloss Parlour Guitar. Advertised as being less than 12 months old. Seller said he was selling because he had hardly played it due to family commitments. Guitar was in mint condition and there was less than 24 hours of bidding left. Checked eBay half hour before bidding was to end, only one bid and there was no reserve on the guitar. In a rush of blood I put a bid on not even thinking I would get it. Half an hour later I now have a Faith Mercury High Gloss Parlour guitar to go with my Faith High Gloss Venus. Guitar is like new and got it for half the price of a new one. All solid wood guitar for £300, ver very happy. Will post some pictures once I've dissed out how to upload them.

FFJ
Just listened to both versions and enjoyed them both. They say a well written song will sound good in any style. Take Ace of spades by Motörhead. I'm not a big fan of Motörhead but when I heard them do a bluesy version of their own song ace of spades I really enjoyed it. Nothing like the original. The Halely Sisters put a country spin on the original and did a good job in my opinion. Each to their own.

Hi FFJ
I was once told that everyone can sing it's just that some sing in different keys to others. On whether they can sing or not I would have to say there are quite a few that would be considered not to have a good singing voice. Chris Martin, Liam Gallagher, Paul Weller, Bob Geldof most male folk singers, even several boy bands have members who would not be considered good singers. But what I will say is that even though these artists might not be considered good singers, it's their voices that make their songs stand out. Their songs lose something when covered.

Well after playing my Faith for nearly 2 hours I'm cured, lol. Having a go at a slow bluesy version of Ace of Spades, seems to have suppressed the GAS for now.

So basically the only cure is death and that's debatable. Looks like I better start saving.

Is there actually a permanent cure for GAS? The reason I ask is that although I've only had my Faith Venus for 5 months and I am very very happy with it I've already started looking at other guitars.

Hi Andy
I have a Faith High Gloss Venus and I can't speak highly enough of the Faith brand. Have never tried a Breedlove so can't comment on them. I had the budget for a Martin, Gibson or a Taylor but after trying several of these makes I opted for the Faith.
Good luck with your search

I got a Jake Bugg DVD. As for actual guitar related prezzies I didn't get any, which doesn't bother me because I think plectrums, thumb picks, guitar straps, guitars etc are such a personal thing my relatives would probably get it wrong.

Charlie as others have said don't worry about a few dings. I bought a brand new Faith Venus and put a ding in it within a few days. I cried for a week, but know I don't notice it because it sounds beautiful.
