I am also considering 12 or 13 frets to the body..

Yes, I know it's all subjective, but I'm always interested in others opinions. I'm a singer/songwriter, and I both pick and fingerstyle with a thumbpick. I record, and I gig. I have a set of engelmann and brazilian, and a builder ready to build soon. I have several bigger guitars (J45, D35) and would like something smaller this time. I will give the builder free hands, but I have four different "models" as a starting point (I want a short scale): Martin 000 28, Gibson L 00, Gibson Kel Kroydon and Gibson J185. My question is, based on this information: What would YOU choose? Thanks, John

Good for you! I have three guitars on rotation on gigs and in recording, but I sometimes envy those who are satisfied with one, Wizz Jones and his Epi Texan as an outstanding example. Good luck combining "day Job" and gigging/recording!

My Lucas ( which was a steal for the quality) blows away my D35 and sixties J45, but sometimes the Martin or Gibson sound just right for a given song..

Thanks for presenting a "new" (to me) artist. Lovely playing! Is the custom Falstaff a koa back and sides?

I don't know about storing them but I do know whenever I wind them up up to put them in a packet for recycling I always stick them in my fingers I've heard that boiling them in water can freshen them up but I've never tried it. Boiling them in water might help but it ruins the guitar. Would that be the process they call "terrifying"..?

This has been a top-quality build thread to follow, not only because of a fantastic looking guitar, but also some world-class comments on other topics related or not related to guitar bulding. Keep it coming!

If you follow this guy's channel, you will find him a bit biased both ways according to brand. Very good player, though..
