I'm gonna go ahead and throw my hat into the Rare Earth (in my case Blend) ring too.

Hi folks
Just a heads up if anyone’s interested – John Doyle’s on tour currently. I saw him for the first time last night in Birmingham – cannot praise him highly enough, what an absolutely fantastic show. An incredibly fluid player, wonderful singer and a seemingly endless bag of tunes. And a nice guy to boot! Thoroughly recommended.
Cheers

There is nothing wrong with a BAM (unless you want to put it in the hold of a plane) I have a friend who keeps a Somogyi in one. I only know of Stafford Guitars who stock the classical Visesnut cases - give them a ring and they may be able to help. Cheers Jonny Yep Stafford Guitars have all three - Hiscox, Visesnut and Bam on hand. I found it really useful to pop along and try them all out

I've been using a BAM case for a couple of years, have gigged with it loads, used it on a couple of tours through Germany and had it with me at festivals. It comes with extra bits of foam which I've popped under the headstock, and I've gotta say, it's been knocked around a bunch and I've never had an issue with the guitar. Biggest plus has been - its light as a feather! Such a pleasure to cart around. Would I jump on it, or take it on an aeroplane? Nope! But for relatively heavy gigging it's worked a charm for me

Another vote for Rory Gallagher - his hybrid picking is what got me thinking about fingerstyle, and served as a good transition to a thumb pick and fingerpicks.
Also, as mentioend above, Julian Lage I think uses this to great effect

I *think* I like a V, but I'm not too picky when picking.

I mostly play with small bodied guitars, and own a Collings C10, a Waterloo and a Martin 00-17. All fabulous examples of small bodied guitars that punch above their weight. I've played a Blueridge BR341 that was pretty nice too, and a Fylde Goodfellow years back that was pretty impressive.

Cheers Andy, got my tickets - really looking forward to it. Are you going along? Yep! Wouldn't miss it for the world.I quite like the Glee Club for music, even if the seats are uncomfortable! SaveSaveDitto, they often put on pretty interesting acts, though I've not been there for a show in a while. Really looking forward to it, see you there!

I had the pleasure of supporting John once, a really generous and down to earth guy. Highlight of the night for me was watching him play Invisible Boy - magical.
This sounds great and I can't wait for his new album
