I’d really recommend this wonderful album, calm, intriguing, warm and intimate. Nice one Rob, so glad you recorded this, it’s beautiful.

Hello, I’ve been trying a set of these too, had them on around 6 weeks and still sounds pretty new - which is a fair bit more than I usually manage.. Mine are still sounding new without that over ringing new sound you get at the beginning! They seems to cope with sweaty hands well! Yep ditto mine don’t seem to have that overly metallic new string sound, but still sound new - they seem to be hitting that sweet spot for me so far.

I think Amit uses the K&K trinity system? I believe there is a power limit built into the K&K mic now so you can't use it with other preamps... I do yep, and there is a power limit which means I have to use the K&K preamp, but I then go from that to an LR Baggs para for some more EQ. I’ve got this setup in 2 of my guitars, one doesn’t need much EQ after the K&K preamp, one needs a lot. But in both cases they sound fab, and the mic brings out the top end and adds some air. In my experience, only adding a small amount of the mic is enough, too much and it all begins to sound a little thin.

I'm not sure I would delay the streaming. I quite like looking for recommendations of stuff from people I don't like.I will check them out on streaming services but then will buy the album. I don't think my album buying has reduced since streaming, indeed, it might have increased! I wish that was the case for most people, but alas conversations with people after gigs and with those who bought a CD tell me I’d have likely missed out on sales if the Spotify option was available. I much prefer your way of researching and then buying music though!

When I released my album Santiago, I decided to delay putting it out on Spotify for about 18 months, so I could sell physical CD’s and get some (a lot more!!) money back into my hands, coupled with a bit of PRS/PPL.
After I’d sold the majority of what I thought I would at gigs, I put it on Spotify and forgot all about it.

Hi there, I've similar issues - I've got HNPP, which also impacts the myelin sheath around my nerves - in my case predominantly my hands and feet. I've had very similar problems around loss of sensation, hand strength and fatigue, so am interested to read the tips here. I've found the act of playing has helped me a lot, besides that gently squeezing a stress ball and warm water have both been helpful in the past. But as you alluded to in your original post, how the hands are doing can vary day to day (or hour to hour). Really hope it improves for you, and if you find anything that works well, let me know!
Cheers Amit

I bought a 1940's Martin 00-17 from Glenn years ago. As it turns out, I ended up selling it back to him around 5 years later, to fund another Waterloo (the Stella in this case) purchase. He's a nice guy, and has a treasure trove of vintage instruments you can try to see if any fit.

Yep exactly the same for me. It was only by accident that I discovered this - I purchased a Waterloo which has a huge and full neck. It means when I play there are no gaps between it and my fretting hand, so I don't have to make any real effort to keep my hand in position, it just rests against the neck. Works so well I asked the guys at Brook to copy the profile for the guitar I got from them.

I picked up my Waterloo WL-14 from the London Guitar Show 5 years ago - it had a crack in the lacquer so I was able to purchase it with a slight discount. 5 years later and zero issues here.

Hi Iain
I've used ProPiks pretty exclusively for over a decade. I use their thumbpick (which I file down to my preferred blade length), and their fingerpicks. The fingerpicks don't have a solid surface, but an opening so some of the bare fingers protrude, so they feel a little more like a nail and are a bit less 'clangy' compared to the solid metal picks I tried.

Funnily enough I was about the same age when I first heard it, and felt a decent dose of nostalgia watching this...something about hearing the song for the first time again through someone else’s ears - and it made me smile.

Me neither. But they look like they're having a lot of fun and I did feel a sense of exploration and wonder, like it wasn't just me but the whole world that was hearing this music for the first time. And watching them gives a bit of that back to me. Ditto
