Thanks Phil. Here you go Leo. A happy customer - Vic got the hang of how to play it pretty quickly.

A BIG thank you to Dave White for exceeding my (high) expectations for this build. Fit & finish is second to none, the tone is really 'sweet' & the aesthetic is gorgeous. If anyone is thinking of buying an Appalacian mountain dulcimer, Dave's your man.
Cheers Vic

Looks a lovely little thing that Dave, sounds nice too. I'm quite taken with it. I was struggling with the string configuration since I could see four tuners but only three strings but just discovered that the highest has two courses. Is there a 'standard' tuning? Cheers Phil

Phil,
Thanks it is indeed a sweet (as the name Dulcimer means) little thing. ddAD is a common tuning and others such as ggDG or ccGC are used. Minor tunig is interesting as you tune down the first of the paired strings a tone - for example cdAD.

They are fabulous looking instruments, would love to try one! Can someone explain the odd fret arrangement though?

Missed this being finished (as I missed everything else over the holiday period ) but just wanted to add my congratulations to vicov and davewhite. A very fine looking instrument indeed, and I just love the soundboard cut outs / carvings
