Well, the case arrived, but it is a bit crap. The idea is good - I like the latches, it feels solid enough, and it's lightweight. Unfortunately, the inner lining isn't very 'plush', there are a few rough patches, and crucially, part of the plastic moulding around the lip of the case is warped, which means I can't close the lid properly It's being returned and I'll probably just get a Gator or Hiscox... That's a shame. Where did you get it from? Could it just be a case of bad luck with this one?

That's a shame. Where did you get it from? Could it just be a case of bad luck with this one? I got it from www.flightcasewarehouse.co.uk and it's their own brand (Spider Cases). It looks good and the idea for the catches (like on suitcases!) is nice, but it is cheaply made, and I wouldn't recommend them. I suppose the warped edge is bad luck, but I don't think this case would stand up to too many bumps or bashes before something else gave way. In saying that, let's see what response the seller comes up with. I bought it from their ebay store (tenner cheaper ), but I want a full refund, including postage both ways. If not, then the feedback will naturally reflect my disappointment

Pity about that Martin - the idea looks good enough, but obviously made down to a price. I'm sure you'll get your refund, but it's a nuisance sorting it out, I'm sure.

I thought it was worth the risk of trying it out, keith, but this sort of thing was in the back of my mind. Back to the tried and trusted Hiscox for me

It looked too normal anyway. Don't you think that something like this is more in your line ?

Sorry to hear that the case didn't work out, Martin.
It looked cool, closed. But open , it did look a little cheap.
Worth a try though.
Most of the electric guitarists I know, use good quality gig bags, rather than solid cases. And that's with high end guitars.
In opposition to Rodders view, I think a semi should always be treasured Both of my recent semis, came in plush surroundings.

No, I don't think so. Snake skin is only one option, though. You could get leopard skin as an alternative

I'm negotiating with the seller about returning the case as he's asked for photos, but I really don't want a replacement as it all seems a bit fragile to me. In the meantime, though, I've again followed grayn's sage advice and just plumped for a gig bag.

Looks the business, Martin. Good score.
I think, pretty much every musician, I've played with, over the last 6 years, uses a gigbag. I'm the only one who sticks to hard cases, for my basses. I think, if I gigged, with a lead guitar, I'd probably convert.
