There is no set date for entries to close, but all entries should be in by the time I post the finished guitar, so keep an eye on the build thread when its up. Once I start the finishing process, that's your signal to get a move on. But don't worry it'll be quite a long time!

Compose a piece of music in the time it takes to build a guitar. I'm somewhat ashamed to say it'll probably take me longer to compose a piece of music then for you to build a guitar...

Having sworn off songwriting I had doubts as to whether I could compete for this extraordinarily generous prize, until my mate's suggestion that I should write a song about my musical heroes gave me a nudge. The song is turning out to be about something entirely different, but at least I've started.
Promise I'll edit and keep it under four minutes this time.

There are only two certainties with this competition. 1: Someone is going to win it. 2: If you don't enter, it won't be you. Colin

No, make that five.

No, no. That would make you, as the only entrant so far, the winner then Leo. Ah. I see what you did there! Actually I did enjoy your open G tuned piece, Unlucky Bluestone, which was quite uplifting to listen to. Impressed at the main theme appearing in two octaves, nice one! What's the title referring to Leo? Also a cunning move to use an instrument made by 50% of the judging panel.....hmmm, now there's a thought! Keith

Fankoo, Keef. Well, Colin emphasised that the top was Lucky Strike Redwood so I thought Unlucky Miss BlueStone would just about sum up the fact that this was the exact opposite of that ... and then I forgot to type the 'miss' in the title and frankly couldn't energise myself to go back to change it - I was just so chuffed with myself for having, after about a million (mis)takes got a decentish recording. First time I've ever written anything in Open G, in fact I only know 2 tunes in it: Leo Kottke's version of "Jesu" and his own composition "Crow River Waltz". Using Sybil wasn't meant as a bit of brown-nosing, honest... but with a cutaway it is the only instrument I have that lets me reach the 17th fret without spraining me wrist and, if I want to have a sex life.... The glow-worm thing sounds very Ogden Nash but is apparently by 'Arthur Unknown' whoever he might be
