I was game, Colin, but the cat's bagged the corset for a hammock and the helmet has a geranium it in. My Walkurenritt is orf.

My Walkurenritt is orf. No Orf was Carmina Burana. Wagner did Walkurenritt. Colin

A quick rule check.
been struggling to get something ready. I've been hitting a wall. I've wrote a 30 second piece, then the partner went off a wrote lyrics for the song based off the 30 seconds and now I've been making good guitar progress along the words. Is this still acceptable as a solo composition?

It's taken me all this time to notice that, in the post to introduce the competition, there's photos of 2 different guitars... one a slothead and one not... I see from colins's latest post on the build thread that it's a slot head the lucky winner will be getting - which is rather ace.

Damn, the pool is getting ever larger! Lovely entry by Phil Taylor - New Day. Looks effortless as usual. Most annoying!

Phil Taylor - New Day was easily the best new solo guitar instrumental piece I've heard in a fair while, Phil. Really held my interest; accessible without being predictable, really well constructed and flowed beautifully with some gorgeous inversions and as well played and recorded as ever. This really is top stuff! Keith

Phil Taylor sitting on beach on Zanzibar coming to the end of that holiday I mentioned earlier (hence the need to get my own entry in early before I left!). Beautiful piece full of atmosphereand matches the view I'm looking at - first chance I've had to check internet since I left - seems like there's been some good stuff happening!

Golly Phil! Your beautiful playing on "New Day" has really shown us clearly how good your composition is. There's such rich textures in there and wonderful delicacy of sound and tone. It's hearing playing like this that I find is so inspiring for me while at the same time giving me a real dose of reality as to how much I have to learn and improve! Mark

Another question. As this is - generally speaking- an acoustic forum, what are the limitations on editing the acoustic original ? Is any software/hardware enhancement allowed ? The rules don't say. The same goes for the vokes. Now then, judges- there's a bit of soul-searching for yers

The same goes for the vokes. Now then, judges- there's a bit of soul-searching for yers Personally I'm not a fan of 'enhancement' in any way, I always recorded my stuff flat, with no enhancements. This is a composition competition, so it is the quality of the composition that is critical, not necessarily the performance, though that should of course be competent. If I were entering I'd keep it simple, write it, record it, post it. Colin
