Ah, OK, thanks for pointing this out. I just got carried away with making a piece of music and didn't reread the rules. I'll up.oad it again in all its naked fumbling glory! And a grand tune it is too! Apols for dobbing you in soundout, and thanks for your gracious response. I'm pleased you have resubmitted the solo track! And it has saved vikingblues (and possibly others) from falling foul of the rules. All of which reminds me I really ought to get something together for this competition! Keith

colan - Lovely nylon string guitar sounds - and a very pleasing jazzy edge to the blues. Very atmospheric song - whatever it was you did with microphones the vocal sounds excellent for it. soundout - Alistair - If it's any comfort you're not on your own on missing noticing the multi-tracking issue! That's a fine piece of DADGAD you've put together and it succeeds in getting across that feeling you were after. Mark

Keith My thanks to you Keith for pointing out this issue. I've recently got a new pair so it can't be that I need new glasses - I think it's my brain that's going dim rather than my eyesight. As it's over a month between my erroneous song posting at the end of September on the competition thread and the solo voice one I've just posted is there any way of marking up on the original post that there's been a new "non-rules breaking" amended entry done later? Mark

Mark ( vikingblues) - I've added a note to your original posting as you requested. Have to confess I hadn't realised you'd double tracked the vocal in places - the timing was so spot on it sounded more like some kind of gentle reverb/delay to me - but good one for now putting up the legal version - nice! colan - many of us are reticent concerning our vocal abilities - usually without cause. Your voice sounds good to me, warm and relaxed with a pleasing tone, and you've certainly written something to suit it, which is an art in itself. Lovely guitar sounds too, and a grand song - really enjoyed it! Keith

colan... loved the nylon blues I thought the sound worked really well with some great playing. The lyrical idea of 'burn me a rainbow' is a great hook and I thought you explored that idea within the song really well through the verses. Another worthy entrant

That was lovely, soundout, and is still so with just the one track. colan, this song is very evocative The guitar against your voice suits it perfectly. BTW, I always enjoy listening to you sing. Your voice is very soothing and in no way unappealing, I often find myself humming your song about May. vikingblues, I don't think the removed track took anything away from your song. Enjoyed it as much as the first time. leoroberts, as the first poster, I vote for you. Not that it will count for anything, but if you don't win I may have to stop my clog clad feet. Unless I win, then I will dance for joy (which unfortunately may still look as if I am stomping my clog clad feet...)

jwdaubney; Yeppers, I've mentioned it to a couple of pickers and I don't think they believed me ! I like every entry to date and there are some real crackers ! Nearly enough for a forum CD. Thanks for the soft landing on my vocals, chaps , and I've put the stopper back on the hemlock wine. Wild Violet, I'd love to hear you sing the ' May ' song that you like. I'd be honoured, actually. I'll write out the chords, if you like, for when I next see you at the Boston club.
