....Worthy of at least a chocolate biscuit, let alone a custard cream.
Looking really good.

Custard creams can only be eaten in threes.
Quite like the wonky tuner look - it'll only be a matter of time till it catches on, Colin !
Keith
...looking beautiful by the way. The guitar.

Just a bit of rough neck work today. First the ramps are cut. Then the outline is cut on the band saw, and much shaving and chiselling takes place, plus just a bit of sanding. The neck is now in its rough state, lots more refining to go. Colin

The figuring on the back of the neck is just beautiful! Can wait to see how the build develops.
Thanks for posting, Dale

Body finished(check), Neck finished(check) well it must be time to marry the two together. The mortise for the neck extension is routed in the body using my complex jig. The transfer pins are put into the bolt holes and the neck pressed into place, leaving the pins in the neck marking the points for the inserts. The inserts are screwed and epoxied in place and the neck bolted on to the body. The neck alignment jig tells me it's a little bit out of whack, nothing a little sanding won't cure. So to a first approximation the neck and body are joined, lots more finessing to take place, but it's starting to look like a guitar. Colin

Newsflash!! This is what you have all been waiting for. I have made three matching coasters from the neck cut-off that will go with the guitar. So those at Halifax will now get the chance to win a set of coasters with a free guitar as a bonus. Colin
