Mike Floorstand Thanks for requesting the tab to my entry - actually encouraged me sit down and write it out, which was fun and will probably come in handy when my memory goes to pieces in the future! Anyway, it's not exactly a hi-tech transcription, though I think it has all the right notes (but not necessarily in the right order... ) fingerstyleguitartab.wordpress.com/2014/12/13/d-iscovery/

You're a bleedin' dark 'orse, Martin, aincha ? Yours is a lovely song. It's real poetry- for a start- it's cross-genre, which is really where it's at to my mind, the guitar is evocative, rhythmic and understated- exactly what such a poem requires. Chicken dinner !

I haven't listened to any of the entries yet, I'm waiting till the competition is closed so that all of the entries get a fair hearing. I do look down the thread though and Martin must be a bit fey as my other main hobby is photographing wildfowl and one of my favourite birds is the Barnacle goose. They are the cheekiest looking of the goose family and photograph well. Now all we need is someone to compose a tune about Talisker Whisky and it'll be a hard choice. Oh I already did didn't I! I win! app.box.com/s/zzg7tpr9gjhwg8n4xk0mColin

Love that. Martin. I'd never have believed it was in standard tuning if you hadn't said so - it has the feel and sound of an alternative tuning... Nice work with the rhyming triplets, too - none of them sounded 'forced' which is an error to which I am prone. Top work, sir.

Lovely song Martin and very moody and atmospheric guitar part. I'd go along with Leos comment - you've managed to make standard tuning sound like an open one with those resonances. Mark

So glad you jumped in Martin, Very much enjoyed listening to that. So atmospheric, haunting almost - the words are really well put together and expressed, and the extremely effective yet unobtrusive guitar part sets them off to perfection. Very nicely done that man! Keith
